Black hound summer art camp is JUly 27 - AUGUST 21, 2026.

Registration will open on saturday january 10 at 10am!

$450 per camper per session

IN THIS FUN AND INTENSIVE SUMMER CAMP, WE WILL EXPLORE ALL THAT CLAY AND ART HAS TO OFFER! TAUGHT BY EXPERIENCED INSTRUCTORS, SMALL CLASSES OF 12 OR LESS MEAN CAMPERS GET ONE-ON-ONE ATTENTION FOR THEIR ART CREATIONS.

Black Hound Summer Art Camp is for Ages 6 - 12 (must be entering First Grade in Fall 2026).

NO CLAY OR ART EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED - EACH SESSION FEATURES UNIQUE PROJECTS AND ACTIVITIES.

SESSION 1: July 27 - 31, 2026
SESSION 2: August 3-7, 2026
SESSION 3: August 10-14, 2026
SESSION 4: August 17-21, 2025

9 AM - 3 PM EACH DAY

SAMPLE DAILY CAMP SCHEDULE

Activities and schedules will vary, but this is a general idea of everything we’ll do in a camp day!

Campers will be split into similar size two groups depending on age (the groups are usually 6-9 years old and 10-12 years old, however this may vary depending on the age spread of campers during a given week).

9-11:30 : MORNING CAMP SESSION 

Morning session includes a 15 minute break. One group of campers will have clay projects in the morning, and the other will explore 2d media (drawing, painting, printmaking).

SAMPLE MORNING SCHEDULE:

9:00: Morning Meeting
9:15: Handbuilding Project
10:15: Break and Games
10:30: Mosaic / Tile Project
11:15: Clean Up 

11:30 AM - 12:30 PM: LUNCH AND RECESS

Lunch will take place outside on Black Hound’s Patio. In case of inclement weather, we will lunch inside in the Black Hound Clay Studio flex space.

12:30-3: AFTERNOON CAMP SESSION

Afternoon session includes a 15 minute break. The groups will switch for the afternoon, so if there are 2d projects in the morning, there will be clay projects in the afternoon.

12:30: Potato Printing
1:45: Break and Games
2:00: Self Portraits
2:45: Clean Up 

3 PM: Camper pick up from Black Hound Clay Studio

PAYMENT:

Payment must be made at the time of registration in order to secure your child's spot at camp.

Installment Payment Plans Available:
Payments will be automatically deducted on the dates below from the card on file.

If you register between January 10 and February 28, 2026:
First installment payment of 33%: upon registration
Second installment payment of 33%: March 13, 2026
Third installment payment of 33%: May 15, 2026

If you register between March 1 and April 18, 2026:
First installment payment of 50%: upon registration
Second installment payment of 50%: May 15, 2026

If you register on or after April 18, 2026, you must pay in full.

REFUNDS:

Withdrawing before May 1, 2026: 100% refund less a 10% processing fee
Withdrawing between May 1-31, 2026: 50% refund
Withdrawing after May 31, 2026: no refund.

Refunds for partial attendance in a given 5 day camp week are not available.

COVID-19 PRECAUTIONS:

Masking is optional during camp. All meals will take place outside weather permitting.

LUNCH POLICY:

Campers must be a bring a bagged lunch and two snacks (one for morning, one for afternoon) each day of camp.

Black Hound Art Camp is a peanut and tree nut-free camp.

CLOTHING and FOOTWEAR:

Campers must wear clothing that can get dirty and closed toe shoes. No flip flops please!

Campers will be split into two groups throughout the day and will have lunch on the Black Hound West Patio. In the case of hot or inclement weather, campers will have lunch indoors in the Black Hound studio flex space.

Please pack sunscreen and a hat if needed, we will remind campers to apply sunscreen before we go outside.

PARKING and DROP OFF:

By Car: On the first day, guardians must park and walk campers into the front door of Black Hound Clay Studio each day and check their camper with the camp director. Drop offs are permitted after the first day. Parking is available in the Black Hound Clay Studio West parking lot and on 50th street in front of the studio.

By Transit: The 34 Trolley stops a half block from Black Hound Clay Studio West at 50th and Baltimore.

Walking: If your camper is walking themselves to camp after the first day of camp, please note this when registering.
